Israel Had A Necessary "Eisenhower Moment" to Expose Hamas' Bestiality

Posted by Olivier Melnick on October 29, 2023

At the end of World War II, the world was in shock as it had discovered the horrors of the Holocaust that had come from one of the most educated countries on the planet. Depending on how one looks at it, the Holocaust took place ONLY eighty years ago or ALREADY eighty years ago. Within the scope of human history, it wasn’t a long time, but when we look at man’s lifespan, it helps us understand that almost all those who have gone through the horrors of the “Shoah” (catastrophe)  and survived it are now gone, simply because of old age. Only a handful of firsthand survivors remain around us today, most of them in their nineties. Very soon, nobody will be able to hold someone’s hand and turn their arm to discover the infamous tattoo of doom–the death number of the camps.

The voices of the Shoah are fading away, while the voices of historical revisionism are shouting that the Holocaust was either grossly exaggerated or never happened. Its memory is in the hands of family members of Holocaust victims. That is why I continue to tell the story of how my mother was hidden in the South of France after her father was taken by the Gestapo and sent to be murdered in Auschwitz.  Some people realized early on that the horrendous, organized genocide of the Jewish people had to be documented. One of these people was General Dwight Eisenhower.

He understood the importance of documenting and remembering the Holocaust the minute that he walked inside the camp at Orhdruf. As he visited this sub-camp of Buchenwald with Generals Bradley and Patton, he realized the magnitude of what he was witnessing. He immediately wrote a letter to the head of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General George Marshall, in which he said: …The things I saw beggar description. While I was touring the camp, I encountered three men who had been inmates and by one ruse or another, had made their escape. I interviewed them through an interpreter. The visual evidence and the verbal testimony of starvation, cruelty and bestiality were so overpowering as to leave me a bit sick….I made the visit deliberately in order to be in a position to give first-hand evidence of these things if ever, in the future, there develops a tendency to charge these allegations merely to “propaganda.”

As the story goes, General Patton had to excuse himself to go into a private corner and throw up at some point during the visit. Despite the commendable efforts made by Eisenhower and others, the Holocaust increasingly runs the risk of being relegated into some obscure corner of history, even worse…Some will soon believe that it simply never happened. This is also why part of the process was for the US military to force as many Germans as possible to witness the horrors that had taken place around them. Perpetrators and bystanders alike were faced with the results of evil in their midst.

General Eisenhower would be furious and probably disgusted by today’s younger generation. Their lack of interest and lack of knowledge of the Jewish catastrophe is helping those who wish to make it disappear from history. Some schools barely touch the subject for fear of hurting the feelings of other people groups. In the meantime, the Shoah is slowly being erased one person at a time, one memory at a time, one testimony at a time.

Fast forward to October 7, 2023, when the world became a witness to the horrors of the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel. We now know that their attack was straight out of the Nazi playbook. Actually, it was more like a merging of Nazis and Isis on steroids. Most people have been unable to watch any of the gruesome footage gathered by the IDF. How are human beings able to perform such torture on people including very young children and the elderly? Moreover, how can anyone in their right mind even question that what Hamas did was inhuman and clearly belonged to the category of "crimes against humanity?"

Queen Rania of Jordan has been questioning the beheading of Israeli children by Hamas in an interview with Christiane Amanpour on CNN.  Colleges and universities in the USA and other parts of the world have rallied against Israel and in favor of Hamas, putting many Jewish people at risk for their lives...in 2023. This is 1933 all over again! We have turned an important corner in modern antisemitism. The beast has been globally unleashed, and it is on a brutal rampage for Jewish lives.

To counter the irrational pushback from the media and other organizations or governments, Israeli authorities had an "Eisenhower moment." They decided to show a group of journalists a 43-minute compilation of the horrors committed by Hamas on October 7, so that they would not forget. It is so sad that such an event would even have to be held, but the world must know. As difficult as these images are to look at, we must not turn our heads away, lest we become the new bystanders of the 21st century.

If this is the new normal for Jewish people worldwide, then, we must adjust to it as well, and as believers, we must not be silent. Thousands of Hamas sympathizers have gathered all over the globe to rally against Israel in the biggest display of double standard we have ever witnessed. The Jewish people need to know that there are Christians who are ready to commit to their rescue and safety. Where is the Church when pro-Hamas people are chanting "From the river to the sea, Palestine shall be free!" or "Gas the Jews!"

The world is being split in two as we see pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian factions take sides. To be sure, not all Palestinians side with Hamas. Many of them just want to live in peace, but the lines are being blurred by biased reporting and double standards. Add to that the fact that younger generations easily buy the lies about Israel because they have no clue about history. They are gullible victims of the propaganda spewers. Consider this:

  • 63% of Millennials and Gen Z didn’t know that six million Jews died in the Holocaust.
  • 48% of Millennials and Gen Z couldn’t name one single concentration camp.
  • 56% of Millennials and Gen Z were unable to identify Auschwitz.
  • 11% of Millennials and Gen Z believe that Jews caused the Holocaust.
  • 49% of Millennials and Gen Z have seen Holocaust Denial on Social Networks.

Israel needs you, the Jewish people need you, and now is not the time to sit on the fence!

Ian Kershaw said “The Road to Auschwitz was built by hate but paved with indifference,
to which I add “The Road to another Holocaust is being rebuilt by hate but now paved with wokeness and apathy.”

  1. i’m old and my former friends don’t want to talk about what’s going on i’m almost 62 and we’re nothing like the generation before us my girlfriend says you should never talk about religion politics or money what propaganda the only hope we have now is that jesus is coming back thank god but in my humble opinion it’s over for America the now old people have become a bunch of sissy’s they only care about golf and sports my god what happen to us god bless loved the article

    1. I thank you Patrick, I cringe thinking about all this also. My dad passed away just last October at 98 and lived thru WWII horror and now I see this in my lifetime as if we’ve gone backwards at warp speed. Yes great article and keep looking up as our redemption draws nye. We must be strong against the lie

    2. It's up to us to not only refute what people like that say.. but to take a Firm Stance on it and.. if necessary to separate ourselves from them in our quest to not only bring the gospel to people.. to serve the community in any way possible.. and to continue to loudly rebuke those who lie about the atrocities in World War II against the Jews..m we have already come too far afield from the reality of what happened in 1940 through 1945 and are bearing witness to slaughter of Jews once again and it won't be long until it's all of us who follow Christ as we are definitely coming up on the Ezekiel 38 War.. nothing is more important than standing for Christ which is the same as standing for Freedom which is why America was created to promote the kingdom of Jesus on the Earth.. and to invite people into eternal life at the right hand of the father in The Power of the Holy Spirit.. our daily comfort and our achievements in this life mean nothing unless they are centered around those efforts. It is part of the separation of the sheep and the goats.. are unbelieving family members and Friends and Associates who choose Satan over Christ will not be with us there in eternity if they do not choose the right choice.. I pray God that the holy spirit will allow us to be influential to people.. but not everyone will choose Jesus.. tragically

      1. ..typo... it won't be long until it's only us who follow Christ on the pathway as we are coming up on the Ezekiel 38 War

  2. Praying and weeping for these precious people being persecuted yet again.. I’m grateful to Israel for from them my Saviour came.. the King of righteousness, truth and holiness.

      1. Read Corrie ten Boons THE HIDING PLACE. give it to everyone you know, especially the younger generations. I had leari a little about WWII...the Jewish tragedy; but this book made it real. Please read it. It is accurate.
I heard Corrie speak in her elderly years. What a bly. You must read it. Or find the movie.

  3. We hear in America need to get rid of the entire obama/biden group and help Israel do what needs to be done for the safety of everyone on Earth . Then we need to come home and clean up our own land . I am 72 and my heart has hurt for many years from seeing what is happening in this world and I know satin's grip is so tight on this world now that only JESUS can fix this . As my grandsons tell me , I just need to remember , This world is not our home and we are going home soon . Look Up !

  4. Amen, to all the previous comments and insightful article I will continue praying for the peace of Israel. Our country too will be held accountable for a disregard for God’s creation, aborted babies and transgenderism. May God have mercy on us all. Maranatha!

  5. I am at a loss as far as knowing what I can do. I am pushing 73 years of age and God has put on my heart a love and burden to advocate and attempt to educate others about God’s Chosen People and Israel for many years now. I am sad to say very few join me in my interest. After one of my trips to Israel I obtained permission from my Pastor to give a presentation to the women at my relatively small rural church. I think 10 ladies showed up…all close friends and family. Granted, it was a rainy day and conflicted with a dance recital of some of the children. I must confess I never attempted something like that again. I still share my passion one on one as opportunity presents itself. I share books and materials to try to spark interest and awareness. I comment on articles. I shed lots of tears over current reporting. Most importantly, I pray earnestly… through the Psalms and also through my heart. Am Yisrael Chai!

  6. I am 79 years old and I feel so sorry for those who have been deceived! I live an hours drive from Mauthausen which is a concentration camp in Upper Austria. Whenever someone comes to visit me I take them to see this concentration camp! Praying for these young people who have been deceived into believing a lie!

  7. I went to Auschwitz in 2004. I will never go again but am so very thankful to have seen first hand what man is capable of and have the audacity to label it as "progress". History does indeed repeat and we are seeing it now...

  8. It occurred to me this morning that the past few weeks is a sample of what the world would be without Christ. We must strive to stand with Israel and spread God's word of redemption to all until the Lord calls us home to prevent as many people, Jew and Gentile alike, to be subject to such a world.

  9. I am nearing 80 years old and have been born again for 44 years. My love for the Jewish people started in my youth when my Dad's boss, a Jew, could not purchase a home in an Atlanta neighborhood because he was a Jew. My parents were very distraught, and Dad made sure to teach me and my younger brother the evils of the Holocaust because it was not being taught in our history classes. My circle of friends and acquaintances is pretty small now, so I contribute financially to organizations I trust to get aid to Israel, and I pray every day without fail for the peace of Jerusalem (and have for many, many years), and that the Jewish people will recognize that Jesus is their Messiah, for God's hand of protection upon His people as they fight this war, that He heal the brokenhearted and those in need of physical healing, and that He show His glory to all the God-rejecting, God-hating Jew haters and shut their mouths. In addition, I make comments on various social media platforms, defend Israel with the TRUTH, and clearly state that I stand with Israel. If there is anything more I can do, I will do it.

  10. I was told by somebody responding to a comment I had posted on the UK newspaper The Times that the videos of babies being beheaded by Hamas are all propaganda and not true at all. What can you do with such a diabolical mindset?

  11. These are the last days. Man's heart will only grow more colder. They are going after the Jewish people first, then us Christians next.

If you stand for nothing you will fall for anything. I stand for Israel!

Since they thought it foolish to acknowledge God, He abandoned them to their foolish thinking and let them do things that should never be done. Their lives became full of every kind of wickedness, sin, greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip. They are backstabbers, haters of God, insolent, proud, and boastful. They invent new ways of sinning, and they disobey their parents. They refuse to understand, break their promises, are heartless, and have no mercy. They know God’s justice requires that those who do these things deserve to die, yet they do them anyway. Worse yet, they encourage others to do them, too.
    Romans 1:28‭-‬32 NLT

  12. After getting through the absolute horrified shock of this brutal barbarism performed by demon posessed and brainwashed criminals i am currently in the anger stage feeling so very helpless. Only faith in our Holy Jewish Messiah Yeshua is carrying us through this awful nightmare !!
